We all have a man in our lives who is just impossible to knit for so here’s a simple hat that was designed especially to suit fussy men

My boyfriend (who works outdoors) hates knitted hats. He says they’re itchy, never fit properly and always look the worse for washing. It’s a good job I love a challenge isnt’ it? I started playing with ideas for a unisex hat in a gorgeous cashmere blend as it’s soft, warm and washable. It’s easy to knit, but also gives knitters a chance to try a luxury yarn without breaking the bank.

I’ve made samples with both the Lion Brand and the Austermann, they’re so soft and cosy the models wanted to keep them :-)

Expanded version of the pattern now available for separate purchase as of November 2012. This includes a textured version of the hat with ribbed brim rather than folded brim. Both versions are available in six sizes from baby to adult L/XL.
