The Light and Shadows sock pattern was originally named 'Varjoa ja valoa' in the sock book 'Tuhansien villasukkien maa'. Please note that the pattern is available for purchase only in English here on Payhip.

- designed for sport weight (approximately 260-300 m / 100 g) yarns: 50-70 grams of MC and 50-60 grams of CC
- knitted toe-up, starting under the ball of the foot, not at the tip of the toe
- instructions written for magic loop; using dpns may be a bit tricky
- instructions written in metric and US terminology
- three sizes: small (50 sts), medium (54 sts) and large (58 sts)
- no intarsia employed
- short row heel with mini gussets
- charts but no written instructions for the stranded colourwork
