Discourse Markers · B1+ · Can Air Travel Be Made Greener? | No-Prep ESL Listening Lesson
A ready-to-teach B1+ listening lesson on discourse markers, built around a free 2-minute BBC Ideas video on greener air travel.
Students predict an answer to the title, match key words, then watch once to put five topics in order, and again for true/false statements with timings. They find the words that guide the listener in six short quotes (ordering, adding, contrast, focus and moving on) and learn how to use but, however and although accurately. They race in teams to choose the best marker for facts about flying and the climate, then discuss greener ways to travel, with an optional mini-debate.
