Listening for Specific Information · B1 · Why Prices Go Up | No-Prep ESL Listening Lesson
A ready-to-teach B1 listening lesson on listening for specific information, built around a free 2-minute BBC News explainer on why prices go up.
Students predict, match key words, then watch once to tick the six things getting more expensive and choose the best summary, and again for numbers, dates and lists with timings. They notice the present continuous for change (prices are going up) in short quotes from the video, race in teams to choose present simple or continuous and say the numbers aloud, and discuss prices in their own country. Background notes help you present the 2022 report as a snapshot, with what happened next.
