Managing Performance Anxiety for Musicians

Live Zoom Training developed to turn performance nerves into presence, focus, and confidence. Limited to 6 attendees. — April 12, 2026 — Register by April, 10

In this 90-minute live Zoom workshop, you’ll learn practical tools to manage performance anxiety and perform with more focus under pressure. We’ll use short guided exercises and mini performance simulations to practise starting, staying present while being watched, and recovering quickly from mistakes. You’ll leave with a few simple personal tools you can use right away for your next performance.

To create a safe, personal environment where everyone can participate at their own pace, I’m limiting the workshop to just 6 participants.

Learn from someone who’s felt it too

As a musician, I know performance anxiety from the inside. I get nervous about performing — not just on the day of the concert, but sometimes a week before. My body starts sending signals: a stomach ache, racing thoughts, a faster heartbeat, and that familiar “what if I can’t handle this?” feeling.

Even though I’ve performed in many different settings, this has always been part of the deal.

The good news is -there are practical ways to work with performance anxiety — not by “thinking positive,” but by training specific skills. I learned these tools over the course of my career: first as a scientist presenting research at conferences, and later as a musician and performer, and as a teacher standing in front of a class. In this workshop, I’d love to share what helped me.

In this workshop, I’ll guide you through those tools live, together with other students, so you can practise in a safe setting and take them straight into your next performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does appointment scheduling work?

After your purchase, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link and all session details. Simply join the meeting a few minutes before the start time — no additional booking is required.

What do I need to be able to join the class?

All you need is a device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space.

Please have your instrument ready and position your camera so you’re visible while playing. Headphones can improve sound quality but are not essential.

Do I need my instrument ?

Yes-please have your instrument set up and ready to play near your device.

Position your camera so you (and ideally your hands/upper body) are visible while playing.

A stable internet connection is important, and headphones can help with sound quality.

You’re always free to observe only, but having your instrument ready makes it easier to participate when you feel comfortable.

Why is the workshop limited to 6 participants?

To create a safe, personal environment where everyone can participate at their own pace, I’m limiting the workshop to just 6 participants. So the bookings are first came- first served basis.

Do I have to play in front of others?

No — participation is always your choice. That said, the workshop is designed to be practical, so I encourage you to try playing at least once (even 30–60 seconds). You can start small, and you can always pass if you’re not ready.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No. You don’t need to practise or “be ready.”

If you can, please have a short piece or excerpt (30–60 seconds) available to play — even something easy. Playing is optional, but you’ll get the most out of the workshop if you try the exercises live.

What if the workshop is fully booked?

Send me a message to let me know you’re interested. I’ll add you to the waitlist and contact you first if a spot opens up or when I schedule the next session.

I can no longer attend. What should I do?

If you can’t attend, please contact me as soon as possible at sandrapianostudio@gmail.com or +31(0)610334027

Refunds or transfers to a future session can be arranged up to 7 days before the workshop. After that, refunds may not be possible due to the limited number of places.
