About:
My parents honeymooned in Ireland and took some time to visit and explore Kylemore Abbey—a gorgeous castle that's located near where my mom grew up. I fondly remember a photo of my parents standing together on a bridge in front of the Abbey—with the breathtaking castle in the background. This trip and photograph were often talked about, so much so that it became more of a memory from all the stories surrounding it.

In fact, my brother and his wife recreating this scene in a photograph when they visited the area several years ago.
I can picture my parents strolling together across the grounds with their fingers intertwined, laughing at silly jokes and planning for the future.

With this in mind, I was inspired to design a fingerless mitts so you too can walk hand in hand with someone you love. These mitts are a bridge between the seasons, with the cable symbolizing the connection between generations. They are perfect to wear on chillier days whether tackling daily chores or taking a few moments to knit a row or two.

This project is easy enough for an intermediate knitter but is engaging enough for a more advanced one. Designed with worsted weight yarn, this is a fast project, available in three sizes, and perfect for a satisfying weekend project. It’s easily transportable for on-the-go knitting or for the perfect hand-knit gift. The classic, ageless design will make this mitt a staple in the wearer’s wardrobe and kept easily at hand for wherever life takes them.
