This Optional Accessory SCI 3DPrint file is a Base for your Voyager. It prints easily on a home-type FDM printer. (The Voyager model doesn't actually need a base; it balances well on its feet._

The text, "Voyager 1977," marking the year Voyager-1 and Voyager-2 launched on their journey from Earth, appears in the top several layers of this .stl file. In the picture above, the top layer has been lightly brushed with sandpaper.

If your 3D printer has the capability to use different color filiments, you might choose to have the topmost four or five layers layers laid down in a contrasting color. (There are 36 layers in this .stl file; layers 31 through 36 comprise the text.)
