Outreach After Grants Pass
Protect people, their belongings and their health when camping enforcement and encampment resolutions change around you.
A self-paced field guide for street outreach workers, encampment-resolution and engagement staff, peer navigators and field-based housing navigators. Rich Los Angeles context. Skills that work wherever you practice. Not legal advice, not enforcement training and not software training.
What you'll be able to do
- Explain what City of Grants Pass v. Johnson (2024) decided and what it left in place, without giving legal advice.
- Help people keep what they need before, during and after a cleanup, and know where belongings go.
- Treat every forced move as a health event: plan what has to travel with the person, and how you'll find them again.
- Make offers that are voluntary and real, and record offers, declines and unmet requests honestly.
- Know who decides what, hand off on purpose, and call the right person when something is outside your role.
