Eight calculators for pricing professional organizing from your own year and your own minutes, not from anyone's price list.

Sheet 1 turns the income you want into an hourly floor, $71.18 per paid client hour in the illustrative example. Sheet 2 estimates a room from your minutes per sq ft or per item area, sheet 3 tests a package of sessions against hourly billing, and sheet 4 charges for products and the time spent buying them. Sheet 5 prices donation and haul-away runs, sheet 6 sets a minimum session, and sheet 7 prices a whole-house project with the assessment charged and a deposit. Sheet 8 checks whether a finished job paid your floor.

Every figure is an example for you to overwrite. These are estimates, not tax or legal advice. Every formula was recalculated and checked against an independent implementation before this shipped.

What is in it

8 calculators, one per sheet. Overwrite the blue cells with your own numbers and everything else follows — nothing is locked, there are no macros, and it opens in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.

  • Hourly floor rate — What must an hour with a client earn to pay you and the business?
  • Room estimate — How many hours is this room, from your own minutes per sq ft or per item area?
  • Package vs hourly — Does a package of sessions at a discount still pay your floor once planning time is counted?
  • Products and shopping — What do you charge for bins and supplies you buy, and the time spent buying them?
  • Donation and haul-away — What do you charge to take donations and discards away, so the runs are paid?
  • Minimum session — What minimum booking keeps a short visit from paying less than your floor?
  • Whole-house project — What does a whole-house project cost, with the assessment charged, and what deposit?
  • Did this job pay — Once the project is done, did it pay your floor?

Every formula was checked

This pack contains 63 formulas. Before it was published, every one of them was recalculated by a spreadsheet engine and compared against an independent implementation of the same arithmetic written in Python. All 63 agreed to within a cent, and the workbook carries a Verification sheet saying so.

That is an unusual thing to be able to claim about a spreadsheet, and it is the main reason to buy this one rather than download a free template. A formula that looks right and is wrong is worse than no formula at all, because you will act on it.

What each calculator assumes

There is a sheet listing this, because a calculator that hides its assumptions is just a number generator:

  • Every working week looks the same. A cancelled session is time you are at work and unpaid. Driving and admin are hours you enter, so the floor already pays for that much of them. The tax set-aside is a share you enter, not a computed tax.
  • The larger of the two counts is used, so a small room full of items and a large sparse room are both covered. Minutes and the pace factor are your own timing. The price is rounded up to the cent.
  • Every session runs its full hours. Planning minutes are unpaid under hourly billing and are counted here as your time. Product, shopping and haul-away are charged on their own sheets, not inside the package.
  • Products are bought on the client's behalf and passed on with your markup. Shopping time is charged at your floor; use your hourly rate instead if that is what you bill. No product or brand is recommended.
  • Every load takes the same minutes, miles and fee. Fees are your own figures; follow your local rules on what can be dropped where.
  • Drive time and setup are unbilled. The minimum is rounded up to the next half hour. If your rate is at or below your floor, no minimum pays the floor and this sheet shows an error or a negative figure; raise the rate first.
  • Every room takes the hours entered. The assessment is counted as paid time inside the price even if it is offered free. Sessions count only time on site after the assessment; planning hours are off site.
  • Business costs and unpaid hours are already inside the floor from sheet 1, so this sheet subtracts only the costs that came with the job. Tips are left out.

What this is not

Not financial, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy, sell, borrow or sign anything. These are calculators: they show what a choice costs, not which choice is right for you. Where a published rate or threshold is used it is the one current when the pack was built — those change, the arithmetic does not.

Honest about the format

One .xlsx workbook, 8 calculator sheets plus Start Here, Assumptions and Verification. Not a PDF, not a physical product, not a Notion template. Available immediately after purchase; nothing ships.
