The design:
Protea is a highly textured flora inspired mandala. It can be used as a table centre piece or a wall hanging. Protea is an intermediate level pattern that requires a little concentration and counting
Materials needed:
Protea was designed using Stenli Vegan cake but because I cut the yarn to get the colours where I wanted I only used 500 m. I used a 2.5 mm hook. It measures 48 cm. Vegan is a 3 ply equivalent to crochet thread no.10
Stitch markers
Wool/darning needle
Optional craft ring- I used a 50 cm diameter
Gauge: rounds 1-7 = 10cm
Recommended Hook size:
2.5-3mm for 3ply/no.10 thread
Or hook appropriate for your chosen yarn weight

Sc: Single Crochet
V st: dc1, ch1, dc1
Puff st: see stitch tips
Ruffle st:see stitch tips
Ch: chain
