Wild Strawberry top pattern
This top is worked top-down. You start with the collar and saddles in garter st in CC (DK weight) yarn, so the shoulder section is a little denser and provides some sturdiness. Then the front and back top sections are worked flat in mesh pattern with sport/fingering MC yarn. They are joined in the round and the mesh pattern continues. At the bottom a second CC garter lining is added. Lastly, armholes are lined with MC I-cord.
Yardage is 74% MC and 26% CC.
Testers rated pattern difficulty 4/10. When working the mesh sections it’s a good “TV project”.
Gauge:
20 sts x 32 rows in blocked garter with DK yarn.
16 sts x 28 in blocked mesh in sport/fingering yarn.
The mesh is very flexible so gauge is a bit difficult to pin down.
