+++This is a measure and cut pattern which means that there are NO TEMPLATES to print off and match up- Yay! You need a rotary cutter, ruler and mat and you can cut the pattern pieces straight from the fabric. This is easier than it sounds because the pieces are all simple squares and rectangles.

When you buy this pattern, you have my permission to make this bag to sell- no mass production allowed of course but a few to sell at craft fairs or online, that sort of thing is fine. All I ask is that you credit me as the designer. I wish you all the success in the world with sales!

All measurements are in INCHES.

Due to the nature of PDF patterns, I cannot offer a refund so please choose carefully. Thank you for your understanding.

NEW: This pattern comes with an extra PDF to help you to identify the front pocket pieces. Please note that this is for illustration only and is not specific to this pattern. Not all of the pocket components occur in every pattern. I have included it because my pockets look a little complicated (they aren’t really once you get your eye in) and some of the component names are rather long. It is only there to help .

You would have to be living under a very big rock not to have seen these cross body bags that are everywhere at the moment– really a grown-up and sophisticated version of the bum bag (oh how I hate that name!) and worn across the front (or back) of the body. Men are wearing versions too. A cross body bag like this is a beautifully secure and hands-free option for when you are out and about.

The Paris is a slimline version with a narrow, tapered gusset to give you just enough room to carry your essentials (and not tempt you to put too much in) and it is still thin enough to wear under your jacket.

Pattern Rating: intermediate sewist with some knowledge assumed. Previous bag making experience would be an advantage. This pattern comes with some handy printable labels to help you to keep track of the pieces and a visual map of the pocket pieces for the front. Don’t forget that there are tutorials on my blog too which can help with more detail if you need it – zipper box pockets and things like that. Just look out for the links as you need them.

Finished Size: 9 1⁄2” wide x 6 1⁄2” tall x 1 1⁄2” deep

Suggested Fabrics: quilting weight cotton, denim, canvas, furnishing fabrics, linen, needle cord, waxed cotton, oilcloth

Gather these supplies: Fabric:

1⁄2 yd. thin to medium weight canvas fabric for the exterior 1⁄2 yd. pure cotton fabric for the lining

Fat Quarter dry oilskin for the flap

Interfacing:

25” Style-vil foam interfacing (Vlieseline) alternatively, By Annie’s Soft & Stable

Fat Quarter G740 fusible interfacing (Vlieseline) or Pellon 860F Ultra Weft

TIP: G740 is a whisper thin fusible woven interfacing about the same weight and texture as cheesecloth. It adds just enough structure to the canvas for a make like this.

Everything Else:

Zippers:

- 1x 5 1⁄2” (#5) for the front zipper pocket

- 1x 7” (#5) for the rear zipper box pocket

- 1x 7” (#3) for the inner zipper box pocket.

TIP: all of my outer zips are metal and non-divisible – if you are using continuous zippers (from the roll) allow an extra inch when cutting to allow for the end tapes.

To make the adjustable strap:

- 2x 1 1⁄2” rectangle rings

- 1x11⁄2”bagslider

TIP: you can also use a ready-made strap and in this case, sub the rectangle rings for D rings because these straps usually come with swivel clips and are detachable.

1 1⁄4“ metal twist lock

1 1⁄2 yds.- 2 1⁄2 yds. (depending on the size of the wearer) 1 1⁄2” wide cotton webbing for the strap

7” wide x 4” long thin leather or vegan leather for the strap tip, rectangle ring tabs and the zipper pull decorations

Clear drying glue suitable for fabric Coordinating threads for all fabrics and trims
