Business Owners - Do You Want to Feel Confident in Photos and Show Up Consistently Online?
Does any of this sound familiar?
You open Instagram or LinkedIn ready to post — and then close it again because you don’t know what to share?
You know you should be more visible… but keep putting it off because you don’t feel confident in your photos?
You struggle to show up consistently, even though you know it would build trust with your audience?
You'd love to use the phone already in your hand to create great photos and content to use in your business?
You wish you knew exactly how to take simple, flattering photos of yourself
You know visibility matters, but you don’t always feel confident being the face of your own business.
You find you’re so busy in your business that being visible takes a bit of a back seat…becomes a bit of an annoying pest?
You feel like you should be posting more… but you don’t know what to share or which photo to use?
You keep taking pictures on your phone… but never actually use them?
You hate it when someone asks for a recent photo and you realise you don’t have one you like?
If you've answered "Yes!" to any of the above then let me reassure you, it's not just you!
These feelings are so common amongst business owners, creatives, freelancers.
I see it all the time and I’ve felt it myself too.
You’re probably busy being brilliant at what you actually do.
Running your business – looking after your clients and customers and keeping it all going - it takes a lot of time and energy to run a business.
But from time to time you might have that little voice in the back of your head pecking away…
“You need to be more visible”
“People buy from people”
“You should be showing up more”
And it’s true of course - visibility does matter when you're running a business.
If people don’t know you exist, how can they even begin to consider working with you or buying from you?
And then when they do know you exist then they’re far more likely to consider buying from you if they feel some sort of connection. And the one of the ways of creating a connection is sharing something about who we are - ideally face to face, but also with images and text that goes beyond the standard headshot or product shot.
But I know all this can be a bit of a challenge in one way or another…
- Finding the time to think about photos
- Feeling confident enough to be in them
- Knowing what to post and when
- Having a bank of images you actually like (rather than searching through stock photo sites)
- Trying to be consistent without it taking over your life!
I’ve found through my own experiences and through talking to others that there are often three things happening here:
- You don’t feel fully confident in front of the camera
- You don’t quite know how to use your phone to get the kind of photos you want
- And you don’t have a simple structure that makes showing up feel manageable
So it becomes easier to avoid it altogether - maybe telling yourself you’ll sort it “next month”
Or maybe you post in bursts and then disappear
Or overthink every image
Or you compare yourself to others who seem to make it look effortless
So what I I think is needed based on what people have been telling me is a simple, practical way to build confidence
In small, do-able chunks ✔️
With tools that make sense ✔️
With support so you don’t feel like you’re trying to do it all on your own ✔️
That’s exactly why I created this membership!
It brings together three things that I think will really help:
- Practical smartphone photography skills (so you actually know what you’re doing).
- Clear, simple guidance on how to use your photos, feel confident in front of the camera and show up consistently.
- And supportive accountability so you don’t drift back into avoidance.
Let me introduce the Business Visibility Club

Why listen to me?
So why should you listen to me – after all, there’s a lot of noise out there about visibility, content and “showing up”. So why me?
Well let me introduce myself! I’m Elaine Goddard and photography has been part of my life for a long time. My Dad was a professional photographer in his youth and although when my brother and I came along he had to move into what he saw as a more secure job, he never lost that love of photography. He still shot the occasional wedding and portrait and he certainly passed on his love of photography to me!
Over the last few decades I’ve;
- Taken on photography commissions – weddings, portraits plus shot landscapes and street scenes for prints
- Run walking smartphone workshops teaching people how to take better photos with their smartphone camera
- Delivered brand shoots that bring out the personality behind a business
- Helped clients build image libraries they’re genuinely proud to use
- Supported business owners in thinking about how their visuals connect to trust and credibility
- And recently worked with a group of Y6 children to help develop their love of photography
But just as important is the other side of my career.
Since the mid 1980s, in my employed roles, my work has centred around empowering others. Helping people build confidence, develop skills.
I’ve worked in roles where my job was to help individuals and communities grow, step forward, find their voice and achieve what they wanted to achieve.
I genuinely love that work.
That thread runs right through everything I do now and I'm excited because this membership brings together both these areas for me - my love of photography and empowering others to develop their skill.
I know that confidence doesn’t magically appear. It grows when:
- You understand what you’re doing
- You practise in a safe space
- You’re supported rather than judged
- You see small, steady wins
I’ve worked with business owners, coaches, charity leaders, creatives — people who are exceptional at what they do but not always sure how to show that visually.
And I’ve seen the shift that happens when they realise:
“I can actually do this.”
That’s what this membership is built on.
Practical tools, delivered in a supportive way, by someone who has spent years helping people build both skills and confidence.
I don’t just want you to take better photos.
I want you to feel more confident being the face of your business.
And that’s work I’ve been doing, in one form or another, for a very long time.
But don't just take my word for it....
Let's hear from others
As someone who usually avoids her photo being taken at all costs I can honestly say Elaine made me feel completely at ease....the shoot itself was great fun; made so by Elaine’s skill as a photographer and also her personality!
— Sue Jones
I recently had a virtual photo shoot with Elaine and was genuinely blown away by the experience. I usually dread having my photo taken but Elaine’s calm confidence, clear guidance and great sense of humour completely put me at ease.
— Kerry Barham
I wholly recommend this workshop to anyone wanting to get the most out of their phone’s camera
— Gareth Johnstone
What others are saying...
We were thrilled to invite Elaine to visit both our primary schools to share her photographic expertise and passion with our Y6 children. Her talk about her love of photography and sharing of skills and techniques was inspirational. Elaine captured our teachers and children’s imagination and the outcomes they produced based on her initial workshop with them was simply amazing.
— Andy Gamble - Executive Headteacher Low Road and Windmill Music Federation
As a fellow photographer, Elaine is a joy to work with, she has huge creative flair, an absolute passion for the subject which she exudes. It’s a highlight in my calendar.
I have observed her teaching others to use their smartphone cameras to achieve incredible results. Elaine uses clear, concise instructions, demonstrates the settings needed, shows examples of her smartphone photography in order that anyone taking instruction understands the objective. Elaine always gives constructive feedback and can explain things in a number of ways. This alone is the sign of a great teacher / mentor.
— Caitlin Hampson
I had a fantastic afternoon in Sheffield with Elaine who demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm for photography using smartphones. She was very engaging with the group and ensured we all understood each element of the session and how to get the most from our smartphone cameras. I found that it made me look at ordinary objects, that most would just walk past in a different way, skills I have been able to continue in my own photography. Thank you Elaine for sharing your passion
