When we build these, we aren't just making a craft. We are teaching

our children how to look at something broken or empty and see what it could be. We are

teaching them to be creators, not just consumers! Handing a child a pre-cut wooden kit where

they just glue tab A into slot B is exactly like repetitive teaching. But taking an empty milk jug or

a soda bottle out of the recycling bin and asking, "How can we turn this into a home for a

bird?"—that is where the real problem-solving begins.
