Albena: First Time Smoking Cigarettes (Part 2)

Albena smoking cigarettes for the first time part 2.

A couple of weeks after our first shoot Albena and I met again in central London to shoot another video. The structure resembles the first clip - Albena smoking cigarettes and trying to become accustomed to smoking. Subsequently her inhales are tentative and small as she continues to learn.

I was actually disappointed with the clip! While Albena has certainly made progress - she is clearly more comfortable in smoking - she hadn't smoked in the interim of our previous meeting.

Her boyfriend is an ex-smoker and I firmly believe that if he hadn't quit Albena would have sneaked a few cigarettes from his packet and smoked with him. Because he's now an ex-smoker Albena didn't have this opportunity. I was really hoping that she would be another Ange - a model I could follow over a few months or even years, documenting her progress. Sadly this wasn't to be.

More disappointingly Albena enjoys smoking. Featured in both the previous clip and this one, she expresses many times her enjoyment of cigarettes. She conveys the pleasant feeling she has when she inhales the smoke into her lungs as well as the aesthetic of girls smoking.

Albena just needed to be in an environment where others around her were smoking. Again, to evoke Ange who immediately after our shoot would sneak a cigarette with her friend, Albena would probably have become a regular smoker had she been in a similar position.

Nonetheless I think it's still worth releasing the content. A little disappointing but still nice to see a novice enjoying cigarettes.
