The Fujianese in southern China, Taiwanese and Southeast Asian Chinese worship the Jade Emperor in the early morning of the ninth day of the first lunar month. In Minnan dialect, the Jade Emperor is called "Tian Gong", so the ninth day of the first lunar month is called "Tian Gong Sheng". In Singapore and Malaysia, the Hokkien Chinese worship the God of Heaven in the early morning of this day. The offerings must include pineapple and sugar cane, steamed cakes, red eggs, rice cakes, five-color fruits, and longevity noodles. The celebration is very large and is known as the "Fujian New Year".. The scale of the celebration is often larger than that of New Year's Eve, and people will have a big dinner together to express their reunion! Hope the coming year will be auspicious and prosperous!

中国南方福健人,台湾与东南亚华裔在正月初九当日凌晨祭拜玉皇大帝。 闽南语称玉皇大帝为“天公”，因此将正月初九称为“天公生”。 在新加坡和马来西亚，闽南籍华人都在这天凌晨拜天公，祭品必须要有旺梨及甘蔗,發糕 , 紅雞蛋,年糕五色水果,長壽麵慶祝规模非常大，有“福建人新年”之称。慶祝的規模往往大过除夕之後人們會在一起吃一頓豐盛的晚餐表示團圓！期盼接下來一整年會吉祥如意！
