Guit_ar

Shimmering, resonant, and refracted — acoustic guitar has a way of carrying both intimacy and weight. Guit_ar is an exploration of that quality, stretched, colored, and transformed through a wide range of signal paths to create guitar sounds that feel tactile, emotional, and immediately usable.

Each sound began as an acoustic performance, then passed through carefully curated chains of analog saturation, vintage delays, texture-heavy reverbs, artifacting harmonizers, and analog tape. Rather than smoothing things out, the processing is designed to heighten contrast — sharp, physical transients giving way to blooming resonance, instability, and decay.

Throughout the process, attention was paid to the space between nostalgia and invention: familiar guitar tones pushed through aging machines, repurposed for modern sampling, composition, and sound design. The result is a collection of chords, loops, and tones that feel worn-in yet forward-leaning, equally at home in samplers, DAWs, or as raw material for further manipulation.

Guit_ar is divided into two complementary sections: a standalone WAV library, and a set of custom Outgrowth presets built from a separate collection of multisamples.

A curated set of presets for Outgrowth, designed to explore the material in a more performative, instrument-like way. You must own Outgrowth (VST or iOS) to use these presets.

• 31 Outgrowth presets
• 105 multisample WAVs used by the presets

All of the sounds were recorded at 48kHz 24bit via UAD unison mic preamps and mastered for maximum detail, EQ balance, and clarity. Chords and pitches are outlined in the filenames.
