Inspired by the challenge of finding one's voice in moments of uncertainty, speak is a meditation on silence, courage, and collective action. Building into dense, trance-like textures to evoke overwhelm and isolation, the work gradually moves into textures of clarity as performers are invited to confront the present moment with conviction. Through expressive vocal gestures and an emotionally musical arc, speak reminds us that change begins when someone refuses to remain silent. Full program note available here.
