5 Questions to find your story
You already have stories. Let’s find one.
Have you ever wanted to write something, but the minute you sit down you think, "What the heck am I supposed to write about?"
You might be looking for the big story—the extraordinary experience, the life-changing moment, the thing that feels important enough to write about, but some of our best stories begin somewhere much smaller.
A conversation you keep replaying. A memory that pops out of nowhere. Something that makes you laugh, wonder or feel.
An ordinary moment that somehow stays with you.
5 Questions to Find Your Story is a free guided exercise that will help you look beneath those moments and discover the story that might be waiting there.
Using five simple questions—NOTICE, FEEL, CONNECT, EXPLORE and RESONATE—you'll take one moment, memory or idea and begin exploring what it might really be about.
By the end, you'll be able to finish two sentences:
I thought this was a story about...
But maybe it's really a story about...
No writing degree required. No extraordinary life required. Just a few minutes, a little curiosity and something that made you stop and pay attention.
