Elements of Art Worksheets Art Lesssons Elements of Art Activities Art Sub Plans
This Elements of Art Workbook introduces primary and elementary students to the building blocks of visual art: line, shape, color, texture, space, value and form. Each element comes with an information page, short exploration activities and an open-ended art prompt, so students learn the idea and then put it to use in their own artwork.
It is designed for Kindergarten to Grade 3 and made for classroom teachers, art teachers and homeschool parents. It also adapts for Pre-K with modeling, or for older students who need a review, with guided discussion or extended prompts. Visual, hands-on and written parts give students more than one way to take in the content.
WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING
★★★★ “I was tasked with teaching art during summer school enrichment for my third graders and these pages were the perfect resource to introduce each of the elements of art. I had each student make an art journal and add each of element of art worksheet pages before going on to do a project using that element. The students were engaged and learned a lot. Absent students would even ask for the pages they missed when they returned! Thank you!” Rachele C.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE PDF, AMERICAN ENGLISH)

- Rubric for simple, skill-focused assessment
- KWL chart (Know, Wonder, Learn) for student inquiry
- Final reflection worksheet for end-of-unit wrap-up

HOW TO USE IT
Choose the elements or pages you want to cover. Photocopy them as individual handouts, or bind the full set into a workbook or put it in duotangs. You can also paste the handouts into sketchbooks for an interactive journal.
Use it for classroom lessons, homeschool units, art centers, sub plans, remote learning, emergency closures or early finishers. You choose the art materials, or let students choose, and because the prompts are open-ended, no two final artworks look the same.
