Spotted Bass - The Complete Anglervale Fishing Guide (PDF)

The deep-water cousin of the largemouth and smallmouth - a year-round, hard-pulling fish that most anglers walk right past.

This guide is written in the Anglervale spirit: honest, practical, no hype. Spotted bass run smaller than largemouth and they live deep, which means they reward a particular set of skills - finesse presentation, an eye for rock and structure, and patience with electronics. If that sounds like your kind of fishing, the spot will treat you well. If you only chase giants in shallow grass, this fish will frustrate you. We will be straight about both sides.
