Forming scarf knitting pattern

Forming is a playful accessory worked in one-colour brioche. Colourful abstract shapes are created by knitting increases and decreases, partially combined with the intarsia technique. 

The shapes transform in a modular way: knitted in both vertical and horizontal direction. 

Forming is fun to knit, because every shape varies and is created slightly different: knitting increases as well as decreases, German short rows and the intarsia technique.

Sizing:

Summer edition: 175 cm / 69“ long x 30 cm / 11.75“ wide, 

winter edition: 215 cm / 84.5“ long x 35 cm / 13.75“ wide.

Material: every shape could also be knit with a different colour to use up leftovers from your stash.

  Colour A: Foliage Green (110), 84 yds / 77 m (1 skein).

  Colour B: Ice Blue (131), 173 yds / 159 m (2 skeins).

  Colour C: Green Moss (111), 179 yds / 164 m (2 skeins).

  Colour D: Sun Valley (113), 115 yds / 106 m (1 skein).

  Colour E: Dusk (130), 104 yds / 96 m (1 skein).

Needles: Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking. 

Summer edition: 3,25mm / US 3 knitting needles.

Winter edition: 4mm / US 6 knitting needles.

Summer edition: 17 sts x 44 rows (22 brioche rows counting from RS), 

winter edition: 15 sts x 40 rows (20 brioche rows counting from RS) 

in brioche stitch equals 10 x10 cm / 4 x 4 inches measured after washing and blocking.
