Moon Phase Appliqué PDF Pattern

Mother Nature is the best designer and I felt like this Moon Phase Appliqué pattern designed itself! I love hand-sewn, needle turn appliqué and the phases of the moon offer so many opportunities to sew curves.  I've designed an appliqué panel (approx 20" square) that works as a wall hanger, mini quilt or cushion and instructions are included for all those options.  In my PDF pattern, you'll receive four files for each stage of the making process, including a 10-page- detailed technique instruction file with 25 close-up colour photos explaining how to use a range of hand-sewn appliqué techniques for preparing the moon shapes and then sewing their curves, points and lines by hand for a beautiful smooth finish. My methods include gathering, using foil, finger pressing and seamline basting as well as how to hand sew and needle-turn inner and outer curves and points.  You'll receive five files:
