We Need a Geek to Break the Code Socks - PDF Knitting Pattern

I am one of the co-hosts for the Geeky Puffin Knit Palooza which is being held in Edinburgh, Scotland, from Thursday, 29-October-15, through Sunday, 1-November-2015.

As part of the retreat goodie bags, we asked the brilliant Jessica James of Ginger Twist Studio to dye up 2 exclusive colourways of her gorgeous yarn. I’ve designed this sock pattern to go with the Geeky colourway and Sam (another of the retreat co-hosts) designed the Hutton Cowl to go with the Puffin colourway.

About the design: I took the name of our retreat (along with lots of exclamation points!!!!!!) & put them into a binary code converter. Then I translated the 0’s & 1’s into a sock pattern. The nice thing though, is that if you’re not geeky, you’ll just end up with a textured sock. But if you are geeky, you’ll appreciate the secret code element that the sock provides. Both toe-up and cuff-down instructions are included in the pattern.

So grab your yarn and needles and help the geek break the code! Happy Knitting!
