Summer Vibes Shorties

It’s been five years since I started publishing my designs* and the first one was one of my most popular patterns, Enchanted Summer Shorties! So in celebration of 5 years of ESS, here’s “Summer Vibes” Shorties. Inspired by the original but it’s own simple yet interesting design. I love how this one works up in self striping yarn!

Sizes

S (M, L) Foot circumferences 18 (21, 23) cm designed to fit with 2.5cm negative ease.

Materials

-2.75 mm (US Size 2) DPNs or a 2.75 mm circular needle of at least 80cm in length.

-Approximately 50g of fingering/sock yarn. The original yarn I used was:

Variegated Version: Cheshire Yarns Hand Dyed Superwash Merino/Nylon Sock Yarn in “Island Dream” (425 meters per 100g skein, contains 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon)

Stripey Version: The Yarn Badger Self Striping Sock yarn in “Sunbeam” colourway (400 meters per 100g skein, contains 75% Superwash BFL and 25% Nylon) together with 20g semi solid mini skeins in the same fibre for the cuffs and toes (Approx 10g).
