COMMUNION – This Do In Remembrance of Me by Bro H

[Verse 1] In Egypt, every household Stood ready through the night; The lamb was slain, the blood applied, Their garments fastened tight. They ate with staff and sandals, Prepared at once to leave; The judgment passed the marked doors by, And Israel was freed. They crossed the sea behind Him; No feeble one was found. The God who broke the tyrant’s hand Brought Jacob forth unbound. [Verse 2] At Sinai, Moses read the words, And all the people said: “All that the Lord has spoken, We will obey His word.” He sprinkled altar, book, and people: “Behold the covenant blood.” But Israel broke what had been sworn And wandered from her God. The kingdom split; the northern tribes Were scattered far abroad; Then Judah also bore the rod For turning from the Lord. Then God declared through Jeremiah The covenant He would make: With Israel’s house and Judah’s house, His law within their hearts; Their sins remembered nevermore, The houses joined, no longer torn apart. [Chorus] This do in remembrance of Me; Take now the bread and cup. Remember what My body bore, Remember My blood poured out. Proclaim My death until I come; Remain faithful and believe. One loaf, one body, one covenant people— This do in remembrance of Me. [Verse 3] The Lord came clothed in flesh and blood; The Shepherd sought His own— The scattered sheep of Israel Who wandered from His fold. The covenant’s own Maker Now stood as Mediator; The Kinsman came to pay the price And gather His people home. The night that He was handed over, While they ate the Passover, He took the bread, gave thanks, and broke, Then gave it to His own: “This is My body, given for you.” Then He lifted up the cup: “This is My blood of the New Covenant. Drink all of it; remember Me.” [Verse 4] They scourged His sinless body, Then crowned His head with thorns; He bore our griefs and carried pains, Yet answered not a word. He said, “It is finished,” Then bowed and gave His life; No bone was broken in the Lamb— A soldier pierced His side. Mary found the stone removed; The disciples ran at dawn. The linen and the folded cloth Remained—but He was gone. That day He walked toward Emmaus And taught what Scripture said; Their eyes were opened when He blessed, Then broke and gave the bread. [Bridge] The cup of blessing which we bless Is fellowship in His blood; The bread that we together break Is fellowship in His body. Though many, we are one bread, One body in the Lord; The two divided houses are joined, The scattered tribes restored. [Final Verse] And still the table points ahead Beyond this present age: The Lord will drink the fruit anew With His people in that day. His faithful will sit down with Him, The twelve tribes gathered there; The promised Kingdom fills the earth With righteousness and peace. Until the King returns, We show His death and say: “His covenant stands; His Kingdom comes; The promised table lies ahead.” [Final Chorus] This do in remembrance of Me; Take now the bread and cup. Remember My death and burial; Remember that I rose. Proclaim My death until I come; Remain faithful and believe. One loaf, one body, one covenant people— This do in remembrance of Me.
