SMALL Chaos/Vavohu -- Specialty Cotton Tzitzit
Each set is available in small and large sizes, sold separately. Both sizes are shown together in the listing photos for scale, with a quarter included for reference.
These are handmade in small batches, so slight variations in knotting and tassel length are normal and part of the handmade character
The Tohu Vavohu Set (black + slate blue)
Before there was order, there was tohu vavohu (chaotic nothingness, formless and void), the earth in its unformed, chaotic state before Elohiym (God) spoke light into being. Black and slate blue hold that same weight, a reminder that He brings order out of chaos, every time.
-Bere'shiyth (Genesis) 1:2
The Knotting Pattern: 10-5-6-5
Each set is hand-tied using a series of knots, in a pattern of 10, 5, 6, and 5. This sequence corresponds to the gematria (numerical value) of the four Hebrew letters that spell the Name of the Lord YHVH, Yod (10), Heh (5), Vav (6), Heh (5), יהוה. Every time these are tied on, or simply glanced down at throughout the day, His Name is being worn on the corners of the garment.
100% Cotton
Every set is made from 100% cotton, a natural fiber that gives you a clean, reliable base no matter what else is in your wardrobe. Since Torah forbids mixing wool and linen together (shatnetz), cotton lets you wear your tzitzit with confidence without needing to track the fiber content of everything else you're layering, while keeping the fiber natural.
What Are Tzitzit?
I like to think of them as my friendship bracelet with God. Tzitzit are the knotted fringes commanded to be worn on the four corners of a garment, as a physical, daily reminder of the YHVH's good commandments, also worn by Yeshua (Jesus).
"Speak unto the children of Yisra'el (Israel), and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord (יהוה), and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring." -Bemidbar (Numbers) 15:38-39
"Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself." -Devariym (Deuteronomy) 22:12
