Continuing Education Course: Adult Autism Assessments: A Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach (3 CEs)

In many places, it is nearly impossible to find an evaluator who conducts autism evaluation on an adult. It is even more challenging to find an evaluator with a true understanding of autistic traits, the importance of neurodiversity-affirming care, and identifying autistic adults. As a result, countless autistic adults are misdiagnosed and have their experiences invalidated by well-intentioned but uninformed providers.

This course provides a template for adult autism evaluations through a neurodiversity-affirming lens, creating an affirming experience with the mental health system that avoids harm and trauma. It additionally challenges bias and harm within present systems that lead to misdiagnosis.

Upon completing this course, you will have created a template for neurodiversity-affirming, accurate, evidence-based autism evaluations for adult clients in your practice.
