Not That Kind of Boomer The Last Wave 1960–1964 - A smaller work week
Born 1960 through 1964. We got the name Boomer. We did not get the pension, the house on one paycheck, or the clock that stopped at 65. Full retirement age is 67. The account is a 401(k). A lot of us were the kid with the house key, then the adult who learned the computer at the desk with no class. Those years are ours. We were good at them.
The book does two things. It lets us recognize that, without apologizing. Then it gives a practical way off a job that is toxic or wearing the body out. Not a speech about staying five days. A page. What comes in if we claim Social Security. What still has to go out. Whether two or three days of work we can stand covers the week. Waiting can mean a bigger check. Taking it sooner can mean a week we can live in. Both get said.
