A 'happy funk’ styled solo with conventional piano accompaniment, this will suit a student with strong internal pulse and rhythmic subdivision of 16’s. The emphasis is not on range but good sound and feel with excellent flexibility to execute the larger intervals. The opening four bars are a fun challenge, but once conquered, will allow the trombonists to perform the remaining work with confidence. The outcome should make for an impressive solo work.
