Amaelia Crossbody PDF Sewing Pattern

Amaelia is a gusseted crossbody bag finished with internal binding, approximately 8” (20.3cm) tall by 10” (26cm) wide), with a gusset approximately 3” (7.6cm) deep. It has a main zipper closure, an external front zipper pocket, internal slip and zip pockets and an optional external slip pocket on each side of the gusset, with an optional elasticated top. Amaelia requires one 14.25” (36.2cm) zipper and one zipper pull for the main closure, one 7.5” (19cm) zipper and pull for the front pocket, one 9” (22.9cm) zipper and pull for the internal pocket, two rectangle rings and one triglide slider. Rivets can be used on this project if you wish to secure the strap and strap connectors.

Pattern pieces and measurements are included for the strap connectors and crossbody strap, although 1” (2.5cm) wide webbing can be substituted for these pieces at your preference.

Amaelia can be made in a variety of exterior bases including woven cotton, canvas and vinyl. Please consider the capabilities of your machine when choosing your exterior base. For the lining, I would recommend cotton woven, canvas or waterproof canvas. If choosing the elasticated external side pocket option I’d recommend a fabric base for the side pocket pieces as using vinyl for these can create a lot of layers. I recommend interfacing all fabric exterior pieces in full using a medium weight woven interfacing and using a fusible foam or fleece on exterior pieces for added structure and stability. Pattern pieces are included for the latter and are slightly smaller than the main exterior pieces to minimise bulk in your seams.

Please note that this download contains a printable PDF format pattern and can be printed in both A4 and borderless US letter formats through adobe. Measurements for rectangular pieces are also included.
