Naturalis™ Action Map
How to Use Your Action Map
INSTRUCTIONS · 5 MINUTES
The science of motivation shows that dreaming alone isn't enough. When you contrast your wish with the obstacles standing in your way and create a concrete plan, you're more likely to take action. That's exactly what this map helps you do.
1 · WISH
Choose ONE goal that matters to you—something challenging yet achievable and within your control.
Write it in one sentence in the center of your map.
Example: “Walk for 20 minutes, four days a week.”
2 · OUTCOME
Close your eyes for 30 seconds.
Imagine you've already achieved your goal. How do you feel?
Describe the best possible outcome in your own words.
3 · OBSTACLE
Ask yourself: What within ME could hold me back?
Think about fatigue, distractions, fear, perfectionism, or anything else that might get in your way.
Write down up to three real obstacles. Without judgment.
4 · PLAN
For each obstacle, create an IF–THEN plan.
Example: “If I get home feeling exhausted, then I will put on my walking shoes and walk for just five minutes.”
Keep your plans small, specific, and immediately actionable.
5 · EVERY DAY
Place your Action Map somewhere you'll see it every day.
Read your plans each morning.
Once a week, reflect on what's working and adjust what isn't. That's part of the process, too.
A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER
One map per goal. Keep your actions small—just 2–5 minutes is enough to get started.
If the same obstacle keeps showing up, there may be something deeper underneath it: exhaustion, stress, or an emotion asking for your attention.
