Set 2 of our 1st grade reading passages: 20 NEW original stories with new characters and topics, a mix of fiction and simple nonfiction (bees, turtles, owls, penguins, how a pumpkin grows, hens and eggs, mail carriers, a snow day, a wiggly tooth and more).

Each story is written at two levels: Level A (24-28 words, short simple sentences) and Level B (58-67 words, the same story with more detail). Both levels share the same questions, so the whole group can discuss one story.

Each page: read twice + tick boxes, 3 circle-the-answer questions (who, what/where, one vocabulary word) and a draw-and-write box.
