This is the first lesson of my Montessori at Home course, and I am giving it to you free. Five short videos on observation: how to watch your child without stepping in, what to look for, and what to write down afterwards.

It is the lesson I would not let a parent skip. So much of what looks like difficult behaviour is a child asking for something in the only way she has, and you cannot answer it until you have seen it properly.
