13 Strand Braid Belt Instructions

This is an 'instructions only' version of a full kit that is available on my website (www.sallypointer.com). Several people have asked for this version so they can use their own cordage and belt loop. Instructions are both written and in photo format, and a little background to the archaeological find that inspired this project is given.

You will need: A belt loop (a wooden or antler ring is ideal) although you can also make a self-loop with the cordage used for the belt. Smooth cordage, around a millimeter thick will give a similar effect to my braid, but this pattern works well with a very wide range of cordage thicknesses.

Please note: the file supplied here has been laid out with a relatively large font size so that you can choose to either print it at A4 for nice big easy to read text and photos, or use a booklet printer setting to give an A5 version.
