A major negative factor hit GS Caltex in the women's professional volleyball team. He advanced to the final of the cup competition, but the key player left due to injury.

GS Caltex beat Hyundai Engineering & Construction 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-20) in the semifinals of the 2023 Gumi-Dodram Cup professional volleyball tournament held at Park Chung-hee Gymnasium in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do on the 4th. He advanced to the finals and continued his challenge to win for the second consecutive year.

Kang So-hwi led the attack with 23 points, the most in both teams, including four blocking, and recorded a 44.19% attack success rate. Moon Ji-yoon (14 points), Yoo Seo-yeon (14 points), and Kwon Min-ji (11 points) also played well.

He reached the final but lost his key player. During the game, outside heater Choi Eun-ji (31, 182cm) injured her ankle and was carried off the court on a stretcher. Choi Eun-ji twisted her ankle while landing in the second set, trailing 0-1.

Choi Eun-ji also left last season due to an ankle injury. In February, he was diagnosed with a ruptured left inner ligament and was away for four weeks. He returned from injury against Pepper Savings Bank on March 9, but finished the season with only three games.

The exact extent of the injury has not yet been determined. Fortunately, however, he injured his right ankle, not his left knee, which was injured last year.

Choi Eun-ji, a graduate of Myeongseong Girls' High School, made her professional debut in the 2011-2012 season after receiving the IBK Industrial Bank's priority nomination for a new team. It built a new nest in GS Caltex in the 2021-2022 season after passing through Korea Expressway Corporation and KGC Ginseng Corporation.

After moving to GS Caltex, he played in 26 games (46 sets) in his first season with 60 points and a 36.24% attack success rate. Last season, he scored 90 points in 21 games (54 sets) and had a 38.10% attack success rate. 스포츠토토

GS Caltex, which played the rest of the season without Choi Eun-ji at the time, recorded 16 wins, 20 losses, and 48 points, staying in fifth place and failing to advance to the postseason. Choi Eun-ji, who played the role of a housekeeper, had a large vacancy.

Although the opening of the new season is still about two months away, major injuries should be avoided as it is time to boost physical condition. It remains to be seen whether bad news similar to last season for Choi Eun-ji will continue in the new season.
