A Cute Isosceles is, as the name suggests, a triangular shawl with a difference! Thanks to the acute angle at one end, the triangle has an elongated shape.
The two lace borders in contrasting colours give this elegant shawl a beautiful, sophisticated appearance - creating a shawl which could either be worn over a formal dress or used to dress-up a casual outfit.
Yarn: ca 300m each of any 2 contrasting colours. Any yarn from lace to fingering may be used. The 2 original shawls I made were both knit in lace weight (100g/600m) and each weighed under 60 grams.
Needles & Notions: 4mm/US6, Stitch Markers
Gauge & Size: In laceweight, with 10cm X 10cm = 27rows X 23sts, the shawl size was 130cm X 80cm
Pattern: The centre of the shawl is knit in stockinette. The shape is created through short rows, with detailed instructions on how to work these (so that it is also suitable for beginners).
The lace sections are charted and colour coded.
Skills needed:
Lace from Charts
Short Rows (detailed description given for German Short Rows)
Picking up stitches
Weaving in non-working yarn.
The Downloaded pattern contains 7 A4 pages with photos, charts and detailed instructions.
This pattern is available in English and German.
