WHAT STUDENTS LEARN
Students follow step-by-step visual instructions to draw recognizable symbols, strengthen fine motor control, line and shape recognition and proportion, and build confidence through scaffolded practice. They apply the Elements of Art line, shape, space and pattern, and connect their artmaking to Remembrance Day or Veterans Day in a respectful way.
HOW TO USE IT
Project a step-by-step page and model a quick demo, then have students draw on the included draw-on sheets, in sketchbooks or on blank paper for full compositions. Finish by outlining with black marker or fine liner and coloring with pencil crayon, crayon, felt marker or watercolor. You can also photocopy all the pages into a class directed drawing workbook using the draw-on pages and title page.
Use it for Remembrance Day (November 11) or Veterans Day lessons, art centers, early finishers, sub plans, sketchbook warm-ups, homeschool seasonal art, and bulletin boards or ceremony displays.
