Most homeowners like me start one of life's biggest, most expensive projects as a rookie. And for too long, we've been forced to learn on the job, where we make rookie mistakes and constantly feel anxious and confused. Time and money are wasted because there aren't easy ways to understand the entire process and how to do it well.

From 2019-2021 I worked with an architect and general contractor to design and build my custom home. It took 20 months and throughout the process, I documented everything I could. I experienced the stress, frustration, and joy that comes with the process.

Once it was done, I set out to help other homeowners by sharing what I'd learned, so you can get a head start on your project and avoid the common pitfalls. Along with my own experience, I interviewed builders, designers, architects and many homeowners. I created dozens of original diagrams, PDF cheat sheets, and lots of photos.

You'll find that the ebook is comprehensive and works more like a reference guide. I don't recommend reading it like a book, but using like a handbook.
