Glissa is the statement scarflette to elevate any outfit. Worked back and forth in rows it’s knitted in two pieces, each decorated with a beaded colourwork border of orb-shaped motifs.

The body is worked in stocking stitch, slip stitches and garter stitch, which combine to give the scarflette its reversible linear texture. Once cast off, the two pieces are joined, allowing the beaded colourwork to flow from the scalloped cast on edges towards the centre of the piece. There’s a choice of methods for joining; simple mattress stitch of the more decorative crochet slip stitch to zipper join. Choose the one that best suits your skill set.

And the name? Glissa is a modified version of gliss which was suggested by one of my Instagram followers who felt the design glistens and glides. Gliss is short for glissandro which is a musical term meaning ‘a straight or wavy line between two notes.
