Dark Floral Still Life Prints, Set of 4 (Printable Wall Art)
Flower painting in the Dutch Golden Age was a kind of portrait: tulips, roses and irises from different seasons, arranged into one impossible bouquet and set against near-black so every petal glows.
This set gathers four of them: a single tulip with a garden tiger moth by Barbara Regina Dietzsch, and bouquets by Clara Peeters, Margareta Haverman and Nicolaes van Veerendael, each from a high-resolution scan in The Metropolitan Museum of Art's public domain collection.
They are rich and quiet at the same time. Hang them in a dining room, a reading corner or a dark-painted wall, in black or dark wood frames.
The artworks:
1. Tulip with a Garden Tiger Moth, Barbara Regina Dietzsch, ca. 1750-60
2. A Bouquet of Flowers, Clara Peeters, ca. 1612
3. A Vase of Flowers, Margareta Haverman, 1716
4. A Bouquet of Flowers in a Crystal Vase, Nicolaes van Veerendael, 1662
