Song Sung Blue Shawl Knitting Pattern
designed by Mary E. Rose
Like many people, I adore hand painted yarns, and like many others, I adore large, intricate lace shawls.
But it always leaves me singing the blues that so often those two loves just do not work well together.
How It’s Made
This top-down semi-circle shawl, in four "sizes", starts with bold petals that give way to an all-over, simple lace background that is not obscured by the variations in colors of that special hand-painted yarn.
When the lace gives way to an area of plain stocking stitch, that hand painted yarn can really shine.
