Sailing ship stories

These are true accounts from the sailing ship era.  Dismastings, strandings, fire, and all the hazards experienced by ships and their crews who lived to tell the tale. Many didn't.      The stoicism and bravery of the crews shines through, and there was an acceptance of their tough life sailing the oceans in all weathers.
