These socks were inspired by my beautiful edition of Jane Eyre. The cover has an intricate pattern in white and green and I just had to see if I could create some socks with this pattern. These stranded socks will keep your toes warm when you spend a rainy day inside with a book.

Sizing
Because of the patterning these socks are only available in a 70-stitch cast on. To change the size of the socks you could go up of down a needle size or use a heavier or lighter yarn. Socks are knit from the top down.

Gauge
Gauge is 9 stitches per inch and 9 rows per inch in pattern (colorwork) and with bigger needles. Gauge is 9 stitches per inch and 11 rows per inch in stockinette with smaller needles.

Materials
• 150 meters (164 yards) of fingering weight yarn for main color.
• 200 meters (220 yards) of fingering weight yarn for contrast color.
• 2.5 mm (US 1.5) double pointed or circular needles.
• 2.75 mm (US 2) double pointed or circular needles.
• Tapestry needle.

Sample
Sample was knit using Uilsenstad Swifter sokkenwol (460m (503 yards) per 100 grams) as the MC (natural) and Handdyed by MJ sokkenwol (400m (438 yards) per 100 grams) as CC (green). Sample has a 9 inch foot and used 22 grams of MC (129m/141 yards) and 57 grams of CC (170m/188 yards).
