"English for Life" is an elementary level English language workbook for learners of English as a second language at A1/A2 levels. Having taught English as a second language for more than 23 years, I've noticed that the most common problem facing language learners is the inability to speak about themselves and the things they see in their day-to-day life. Therefore, I decided to create a workbook to teach students how to talk about themselves, their emotions, what they need, and how they look. In addition, the book incorporates tens of units on the topic of describing objects. It aims at teaching students how to classify the things they see and how to speak about their characteristics, from appearance to location to even components and purpose. This workbook is designed to be studied with an ESL teacher. However, self-study students might find it exciting and challenging. The workbook has many pictures to stimulate learners' speaking skills and link the vocabulary they learn to the things they see. We advise the reader to go through the book lessons in its presented sequence. Students are recommended to create datasheets describing themselves, the objects they regularly use, and their houses and classrooms.
