EUROPEAN DREAM, TRAGIC REALITY: why are they leaving

Why do so many young Africans risk their lives to reach Europe, sometimes at the cost of their own lives?

This poignant brochure explores the root causes of illegal immigration to Europe: poverty, unemployment, political instability, social pressure... but also an idealised European dream, often far removed from reality.

From crossing the desert to the blood-red Mediterranean, this book gives voice to the facts and asks the real questions. It concludes with ideas for reflection and solutions to curb this human tragedy.

A powerful awareness-raising tool to read, ponder and share.

A gem for students, researchers, educators, NGOs, or anyone interested in current migration issues.
