About the artwork
Eugène Grasset, a Swiss-born designer in Paris, was one of the founders of the Art Nouveau poster. Dans les Bois (In the Woods), 1899, shows a woman resting among birch trees with a winding landscape behind her. Clear outlines and flat colour areas make it a good fit for cross stitch.
