The Seleucid Empire was one of the major successor states that emerged after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE. After Alexander's death, his empire was divided among his generals. For this video I’ve prepared a sample from Bahrain which dates roughly to the end of the Seleucid Empire. It scores similar to the Sassanian Bahrainis on my custom calculator, which suggests that the genomes are not foreign, but are rather bahraini locals.

I ran the sample through qpAdm and she ended up scoring 16 percent corded ware. In this case, corded ware acts as a proxy for proto indo iranian admixture and steppe admixture mediated through anatolian indo-european speakers.
