The Sermon on the Mount Made Simple
The greatest sermon ever.
The Sermon on the Mount — Jesus' kingdom manifesto, from the Beatitudes to the house built on the rock (Matthew 5-7).
The greatest sermon ever preached was spoken by Jesus Himself, to a hillside crowd of fishermen, tax collectors, skeptics, and seekers. It ran about twenty minutes. Two thousand years later, it still outshines every pulpit that came after it.
This book walks through the sermon line by line — from the upside-down doorway of the Beatitudes to the higher standard of the heart, from the secret life of devotion to freedom from worry, from the narrow gate to the house built on the rock. Not to admire it from a distance, but to hear it — and then to build on it.
Across 14 chapters you'll learn:
- Why the Beatitudes are an upside-down doorway into an upside-down kingdom
- What it means to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world
- How Jesus presses the law past behavior into the heart: anger, lust, and enemy-love
- Why giving, prayer, and fasting must be done in secret — and the Father who sees
- The worry cure: treasure in heaven, one Master, and "seek first the kingdom"
- What "judge not" really means, and the golden rule that sums up the Law and the Prophets
- The final choice: two gates, two trees, two builders — and the storm that reveals your foundation
- Why the crowds were astonished at His authority — and what to do with your astonishment
Bible-first throughout. Unapologetically Trinitarian: life directed to God the Father, through Jesus Christ the Son — Lord and Savior, Son of God and Son of Man, the King whose manifesto this is — by the power of the Holy Spirit. Change by the Spirit's power, not willpower.
Each chapter opens with Scripture and ends with one clear action step. Includes a closing prayer written from the sermon and a Q&A appendix answering the honest questions people ask about the Sermon on the Mount.
