The Vine and the Branches Made Simple
The Vine and the Branches -- Jesus' final-night teaching: abiding in Him, the Father's pruning, and the fruit that remains (John 15:1-11).
The Vine and the Branches Made Simple is a ten-day, Bible-first walk through John 15:1-11: the true vine, the Father the husbandman, the pruning of the fruitful branches, cleansing through the word, the command to abide, the end of self-reliance ("without me ye can do nothing"), the honest warning of the withered branch, the prayer of the abiding branch ("ask what ye will"), much fruit for the Father's glory, and the love and joy that remain -- "that your joy might be full."
Explicitly Trinitarian: God the Father, the husbandman who tends every branch; Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior, the true vine in whom all life flows; and the Holy Spirit, the sap of the vineyard, who alone produces fruit no willpower can manufacture. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
Read one chapter a day. Come thirsty. Remain.
